Mentor Program
HSES ACE Program provides mentorships and internships for more than 30 students.
12 HSES students were selected for paid internships working on the new Barnes Foundation Museum on Benjamin Franklin Parkway, designed by Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects and scheduled to open in 2012.
Ajin Fatima, Class of 2010, was awarded the $5,000 Hill International scholarship by the ACE Mentor Program of Eastern PA.
This year our students are mentored by professionals in these construction and architectural firms:
• O'Donnell & Naccarato - Structural Engineering
• Pennoni Associates - Engineering and Design Consulting
• Turner Construction Company
• CB Development Services Inc.
• H2L2 Architecture
• GREYHAWK - Construction and Program Management
• Langan - Engineering and Environmental Services
• JKR Partners - Architects, Designers
• KSS Architects - Architecture, Planning, Interior Design

Under the mentorship of experienced professionals from leading building industry firms, students work in teams to pursue a range of informative and stimulating after-school activities, including:
•field trips to “in-progress” construction sites
•discussions with project managers
•tours of professional offices and more.
In addition, each team works on a project that addresses “real-life” situations and issues.
From November through May, the program meets every other week from 4:00 to 6:00 in the offices of the team's mentors. It’s a perfect way to explore the building industry’s rich and diverse career opportunities.
